Leather Distressing

Leather can easily be aged and distressed using sanding sponges, paints and leather dye suspended in denatured alcohol and shellac.

Amy Van Every is a technical colorist working in processes associated with applied color to textiles, and other surfaces like leather and vacuform, and including mounted as interiors. She has experience with dyeing and painting for main stage performances. Skilled with brush, stenciling, and compressed air applications. Her 41 years of experience has allowed her to work with a variety of dye types and fabrics. Developing proficiency with various paints, pallets, inks, transparent/opaque mediums and associated techniques. Knowledge of costume painting for stage when/where to use various applications. Good communication skills and excellent follow through.
